Visit to Uncle Peter's and the Aquarium
Yesterday we all went down to spend the night at Uncle Peter's new apartment. While Chris and Peter went to the Sam Adams Octoberfest, Laura and I took Riley to the Aquarium. She really enjoyed looking at everything there, but didn't spend much time looking at anything in particular instead running from place to place saying "more." Laura and I enjoyed it as too, well, as much as one can enjoy herself after paying the high ticket price only to be pushed around (literally) by a 1 1/2 year old, who wants to be independent, screams when picked up, or assisted in any way (i.e. steering the stroller so as not to hit people). :)
Laura and Peter bought Riley a balloon. She was psyched!

At the aquarium.

Does not want to be held - even if it is being held up to see an exhibit.

Chilling on Peter's couch.

Exhausted and fell asleep on the was home this morning.

Labor Day Weekend
This past long weekend was a busy one. On Friday night we went to a football game at Chris's school and on Saturday we went down to Boston to see a taping of Wheel of Fortune with Peter and Laura. (We left Riley with Grandma and Grandpa.) Despite sounding fun and interesting it was really kind of boring and we left after two of the three shows were taped. My students had lots of questions about it today though.
On Monday we had friends and family over for a Barbecue gathering. We had lots of fun and enjoyed chatting with everyone and watching the little kids play together.

Recent Riley
San FranciscoTrip
We recently went out to California to go to a wedding and visited with my Aunt Sue and Uncle Del and cousin Amy while we were there. Aunt Lynn was also there for a day as well. We had a great time seeing lots of different things.
The Dahlia Dell at Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Bridge

On the boat out to Alcatraz

The cell block on Alcatraz (Can you find Del in this picture?)

Really tall trees! Redwoods!

The group in front of the Redwood age ring. The plates on it show historical events in time like the birth of Jesus and the Battle of Hastings (1066).

Lynn after she fell in the ocean. (Really she tripped running away from a wave - but she did a crazy twist roll to save her camera and it was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time!)
The Filoli Mansion where Sue and Del volunteer.

View of the city from Twin Peaks.

After driving to the bottom of the curvy road. (Well, Del drove - thank God - some of those hills are CRAZY!!)
The view from our hotel room where we spent 3 nights. And to think they tried to upgrade us to a room with a view and a balcony. Why do you need a balcony when the view is this and the entire wall is a sliding glass door anyway!?)
Amrish and Erica dancing their first dance. Congratulations!!
