Rainbow Leggings and an Easel

Riley had a "ba" catastrophe on Friday before I picked her up from daycare when the top from her sippy cup popped off and covered her (and the couch and floor @ daycare) with milk. So, when I arrived to get her, she was wearing one of her spare outfits - a Red Sox Cheerleader dress. Once we got home I put the rainbow leggings Nana got for her on her so her legs wouldn't be cold.
Riley also recently inherited an easel and enjoys hanging out under it almost as much as she likes drawing on it.

Walking @ Daycare

Here is a cute video from daycare of Riley walking across the room. I love all of the other kids jumping around at the end.

Nice Weekend

We all had a nice weekend here on the pond. On Saturday Riley and I went to Jumpin' J's 2nd birthday party. Riley ate an entire hot dog, some hamburger, some pasta salad, lots of chips and some cake. We had such a nice time.

On Sunday Nana, Grampy, Uncle Peter, and Laura came to visit. We walked down to the landing where Riley (and I) put her (our) feet in the water for the first time this year. We all had lunch and then after Riley went down for her afternoon nap, Nana and Grampy left. Uncle Peter and Laura stayed for the night and the four of us (Riley was in bed for the night) played the most ridiculous game of Trivial Pursit ever. I made some pancakes for breakfast the next morning and they were on their way back to Boston.
Later on Monday Grandma and Grandpa came over to play. Grandma helped me to plant some of the annuals I picked up on Sunday before our guests arrived and then watched Riley while I planted the rest myself. It was a great day for gardening because it was warm and sunny but also too windy for the bugs to be a bother.
Today we were back to school, but Riley found time this afternoon to try on my shoes.

Hair, Tubers, and a Table

By this time tomorrow, all of my dahlia tubers should be in the ground. I think I will have 51 different varieties in all places in 4 different gardens. Spring is here and the apple trees are blooming. We even saw the oriole in the yard the other day!
Riley has been good. She still remains totally uninterested in walking, but has been working very hard on her words. We got a little table with chairs for her to sit at and draw so she hopefully won't try to color the coffee table anymore. I also managed to get her hair up in an elastic today. It wasn't much and certainly nothing compared to her second cousin Luna's (who just turned 1 on Mother's Day) beautiful hair, but I thought it was cute.

Mickey

Yesterday we went up to Laconia for a belated birthday dinner for me and Uncle Peter. Peter brought his girlfriend Laura who brought Riley a pair of Mickey ears from her recent business trip to Orlando. Chris, Peter, Laura, and I left Riley with Nana and Grampy and went to Funspot for a little trip and so Peter could show Laura his old stomping grounds. Later, after dinner we put flowers in Riley's hair. Riley's sad Mickey face is the cutest sad Riley face I've gotten on camera in a long time, so I had to post it.

Week Off

Riley and I were home for April break this past week. We had a few really warm days and a few seasonable days. The warm days were nice but the bugs are out now!! I dug out a new garden last weekend and also extended the one I dug last year. I might start planting out some dahlias tomorrow depending on how the day pans out.
