Memorial Day weekend

As we've been doing for the past few years, we headed to Nana and Grampy's for Memorial Day weekend. The weather was crummy; not a lot of rain, but definitely not beach weather. We did make it there for lunch on Saturday though, and Caleb did get wet, though not on purpose. We enjoyed spending time with Peter, Laura and Caroline too. I left for Saturday night to chaperone the prom then Chris and I shopped on Sunday before heading home. I had a nice time in the garden today and got almost everything I needed to planted. Tomorrow it's back to the garden center after work for a few more things if I can convince Caleb to go with me again. 

Also, one of my oldest and dearest friends eloped on Sunday, so I sent these best wishes to her. Wishing them all of the love and happiness Chris and I have had these (almost) 10 years. 

Graduation day!

Finished my masters and went to graduation today! Chris and the kids came to watch the indoor ceremony. Then we went home to a little cookout with the grandparents. It was a great day with beautiful weather! Here are the ladies I had classes with, a silly picture to send the kids while they waited for the ceremony to start, the grandfathers playing hungry hippos and, of course, a regalia try on by the kids before bed. 

Mother's Day fishing derby

Well, we had a lot mor success this year at the fishing derby over last year. Riley caught 5 fish an Caleb caught one! You may remember that last year we caught nothing. Then we went home to visit with Bruce and Robin (who had joined is at the derby) and planted dahlias, sowed seeds, and cut down trees. It was the most beautiful Mother's Day we've had in quite awhile, sunny, warm, and just windy enough to keep the black flies away.

Happy birthday Caleb!

Caleb turned 4 years old on February 28th. Since his birthday falls during school vacation, we waited a week into March for his party. He wanted an Octonauts party and I think I did a great job pulling it together and he had lots of fun! 

Aquarium

Today we took the kids to the Boston Aquarium for the day. We even managed to save on parking in the city by taking the T. It was the kids' first time on a train, and they loved it. They also loved the Aquarium which Caleb had never been to and Riley doesn't remember going to. Caleb loved the big shark images on the wall, and Riley loved the seals and penguins. Both loved the tide pool reach in area. 

Valentines day!

Riley made me a card, and everyone else got candy. Here are the kids with their lips lollipops. After dinner Caleb spontaneously decided to do all of the yoga poses in the ABC yoga book. Here is table pose and some other pose that comes at the end of the alphabet. It was a snow day and Chris hooked up the Wii for the kids to play. That kept them occupied all afternoon.

We had a fun party at home today. Or, two parties actually. First we had some of Riley's friends over. They made snowman paintings and played. Lots of screeching and laughter. Later the grandparents and Peter, Laura, and Caroline came for a visit. The kids were happy to have two cupcakes today and for all of the fun. We are all exhausted!
