Caleb just learned to somersault and his favorite time to show off his skills are when I'm reading Pajama Time! A little craziness just before bed. Please forgive my singing.

First Day of Preschool

 Riley had her first day of preschool today. She has been asking about school for a long time and could barely sleep last night out of excitement. I left school to meet and walk her into the classroom and walked her little friend from daycare, Nika, in to school too. Both girls went right in the room with barely a look back, put their backpacks and sweaters away like they had done it a million times before and that was that. Riley loved it and wants to go back every day. The quote of the day, however, came when Chris put Riley in the car this morning. He asked her what she was going to remember to do at school today, thinking she would respond with something along the lines of "Listen to the teacher." Instead she responded with "Not fart." That's our girl!

Labor Day Weekend

The day before Labor Day I went down to the baby shower of one of my dearest friends, Shannon. It was nice seeing her and other friends from college.

Then on Labor Day we went to the annual Francestown Labor Day festivities. Uncle Peter and Aunt Laura slept over the night before, then Grandma and Grandpa and our friends met us downtown. Riley and Leah had fun playing the kiddie games and we all enjoyed the used book sale and juried crafts fair. Riley and Caleb also enjoyed old fashioned ice cream. Then we went back to the house and met Grampy and Nana there. We had snacks and burgers and Uncle Peter and Aunt Laura even went out in the canoe for a bit.
