It's Summer!

It's summer vacation time. I finished school on Friday, so Riley is done
with daycare too for the summer and home. Chris still has school until the 30th, though, so we'll have some girl time until then. We're still suffering with lots of rain here and I'm beginning to worry that my poor tubers will just rot unless we get some sun soon. Oh well. I can't control the weather, so I guess there is nothing to do but wait. I can't quite believe that summer vacation is here - the weather hasn't been nice enough. According to the NH News, there haven't been any days in June that have reached the 80s (at least in Concord where they measure that stuff.) Riley has been trying on her sunglasses anyway in preparation for our trip to the beach in a few weeks.
Yesterday was an OK day. Not very sunny but dry and warm. Riley played in her sandbox for awhile and ran around outside, (Well, sort of ran.) She's been enjoying her slide and can even climb up it now and slide down it on her own saying "whee." Of course she won't do it when I try to get it on video though.
It's crummy out today and Riley is a little cranky, so we sat down to watch the Baby Einstein "Neighborhood Animals" DVD. I didn't think she would know what I was talking about when I asked her if she wanted to see it, but she said an immediate "yes" and headed to the couch.
